“What’s it like hearing your own song played over the P.A. system?” we asked Elias Soriano of South Florida’s Nonpoint following their March 7th performance at Revolution in Appleton.

“I feel accomplished,” was his response.

And accomplished he should feel. After rocking Revolution’s sold out crowd for roughly 45 minutes, floods of fans came to greet them after the show.

Revolution in Appleton brought Nonpoint and Cold together for a co-headlining tour on a surprising non-cold March Sunday night.

Witnessing Nonpoint live is not like other metal shows. From the second they hit the stage, they want you moving. If you’re not moving, you can bet your friendly neighbor will get you going. The energy from the band feeds right into the crowd. They rocked new and old songs, with highlights being “What a Day,” “In the Air Tonight,” and the headbanging closer of their evening, “Bullet with a Name.”

Nonpoint has just finished recording a few full length record and has an expected release date in 2010.

Cold headlined the show and brought back some of their creepy, dark vibes from back in the day and a few new technological tricks. Cold played a very diverse set from their four albums, including a few new ones from their upcoming release Epic and even the first single they released, “Go Away,” from their 1998 self-titled release. Cold’s albums have been so diverse throughout the years, that it’s impossible to predict what they’ll do next. One thing that can always be counted on is Scooter Ward’s heartfelt lyrics. Opening the show was a band called Edison with members hailing from the Madison and Milwaukee areas, but now based in New York City. This band brings a ton of energy to their show and you can see every member feeling exactly what their playing. Drummer Todd Budich is one of the best drummers I’ve ever seen/heard live. Whether the band’s rocking a heavy groove, or a slower groove, Todd plays the perfect drum beat and has some sick fills. A DEFINITE must see live. Check them out at myspace.com/edisonnyc.

Day of Fire hit the stage following Edison in another rock assault. Former Full Devil Jacket vocalist Josh Brown formed the group in 2004. This band is straight up 90’s grunge rock like Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains. They also had some help from Chris Daughtry (who will play in Green Bay in May) who co-wrote three tracks on their album Losing All. Check Day of fire out at myspace.com/dayoffire.
